Geometry

In Te Maunga we have been about Geometry. We have been learning about lots of different shapes that we haven’t learnt about like we the angle and all the edges some of the 2d shapes where easy and the 3d shapes but I didn't realize the a circle had 1 side I thought a circle had no sides then I realized it had one side. Geometry was really fun wish we could do Geometry next year also what I found easy was trying to find out how many angles, edges,corners and faces

Pet Day

Last week in Te Maunga it was pet day. We made vaseline saucer’s and we also made cookies. Then we went outside to go see the pets. First we saw the dogs,cats, hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits. It was really hot outside but after seeing all the animals we had a sausage sizzle, with some juicy’s and some cakes. The juicy’s were, so refreshing and cold. Pet day was fun and YUM!!!.

Procedural Writng

In Te Maunga we have been doing Procedural Writing text we are also trying to make our own writing even better we made a procedure about Flubber, Pikelets, Games and also Beeswax Wraps. It was fun seeing the our fabric go into the beeswax because before we started to put our wraps into the beeswax we had to draw something about keeping the world clean.

Flubber

In Te Maunga we made Flubber. We used Borax, PVA glue,Warm Water,Food coloring. The Equipment was measuring cup,measuring spoons,Big Spoon.Not sure what the rest was, also when we made the flubber it didn't work because we put too much water into the flubber so that is why the flubber didn't work.

Math Goals

This term in Te Maunga we have been doing our maths goals, on a google drawings and also the reason why I chose these goals, because I still need to learn them, so I know when I get tested on my maths test. We have also been doing a math Chase, our maths chase is when you do the Chase and math problems but the problems get harder each time when you move on. Also we made nets into 3d shapes also when Mrs Pou prints our maths goals she puts them on the wall. They look so cool when there on the wall. The maths that we have been doing this term has been really fun.

Fitness

Harlem 20/6/18 At Paihia School, All the classes now do fitness every day but we don’t do fitness on Monday we do fitness to get our, Heart beating for the day. Also we all have to do different activities every day and the activities are hurdles, jump jam,races, skipping and the last one was a Work Out also. My favorite activity was jump jam. The hardest activities was the races it was hard to keep up with everyone but no one gave up also we do rotations every day so we can to do something different. I also think that fitness is a good thing for your health and for your heart.

Rocky Shore

At the start of week 2 or 3 we made a google drawing but before we made a google drawing we walk down to the Rocky Shore, we found heaps, of Crabs and we saw lots, of Oyster, shells also there were lots of rubbish we all, had to pick any rubbish that we found we had a book that had lots of stuff like seaweed, and different shells also inside the book their, were different types of crabs. But Dale and I were the, first people who found a crab. Then Mrs Pou took a Photo and any creature that we found. Mrs Pou, will RACE over and then she will, take another photo when we got back we did some research what other Rocky Shores look like. Compared to our, one, then we made the google drawing we had to think what is different, and, what is the same. What was different was that there were not much sea creatures in our Rocky Shore, because they do not get left alone and we want to be Kaitiaki for our Land.

Term 2 Math Goals

At the beginning of Term 2 we made some math goals everybody had to choose four goals. Each of our goals were from term 1, and we had to make a google drawing. We had to pick 4 goals, off our paper that we had maybe from last, or this year. We had to pick 4 different goals. Once we had our goals we had to make a google drawing, we had to follow the examples that were on the sheet but it was pretty hard to do the examples I just finished in time. We had all finished our goals on our, drawing. Mrs Pou would check it and then she will print it once they all have been printed we had to glue it on our last term goals that we did then Mrs Pou, grab all of our’s and then she stuck them on the wall and it makes our class look.

Term 2 Writing Goals

At the beginning of term 2 our whole class made writing goals. We all had goals most people's goals were achieved and some, didn't get achieved because they didn't get them finished, so that’s their goals for term 2 and my goals were pretty hard. My goals are Digraphs and Blends,Other vowel patterns and Suffixes/Prefixes these are the goals that I need to learn once I learn them I’m going, to have new goals.
